Description
From the esteemed Kusuda vineyard in Martinborough, Hiroyuki “Hiro” Kusuda continues his pursuit of precision and purity with the 2024 Riesling. Grapes were hand-harvested across select blocks, whole-bunch pressed, with strict selection criteria and vinified under controlled stainless-steel conditions. The vintage was notably dry, yet saved by key rainfall later, giving freshness and tension to the wine.
Smells
A bright, crystalline bouquet opens with lime zest, green apple peel, and citrus blossom, underlaid by delicate florals and a wet stone minerality.
Tastes
On the palate it presents with razor-sharp acidity and energetic drive. Succulent citrus fruits, hints of stone-fruit, backed by saline minerality. Texture is tight and detailed, showing both restraint and depth. The wine finishes long, with lingering citrus tension and a whisper of floral perfume.
