Description
A relatively new brand range to Giesen, ‘Uncharted’, inviting you to discover the best of Marlborough. A place between the snow and the sea, where mountain ranges give way to rivers, and sunshine reigns supreme. Particular attention to detail is given to these wines, selecting small premium parcels of fruit and for this Savvy, it’s from two of their Awatere Valley vineyards on heavier soils, giving texture and subtle flinty notes in the wine, speaking of the Awatere Valley subregion.
Smells
Abundant aromas of gooseberries, elderflowers, kaffir lime skin, with passionfruit, wet stones, and lemon zest.
Tastes
Great palate weight with a creamy texture indicative of the heavier soils of the Awatere Valley, making for a supremely drinkable Marl Savvy and where the acid is wonderfully balanced, not hard. Not your average Marl Savvy, but rather one that will delight you and all your friends, even if Sav isn’t their first choice. Drinking well now through 2024 and enjoy with ethically caught Marlborough seafood.
