Putangi is a gorgeous impressionable 95/00 Pinot from Grey Hay’s (founding owner of Chard Farm & Peregrine) Wet Jacket winemaking stables… hot property with Central Otago Pinot drinkers. It leaves a seamless, silky and dark fruited trail of seduction as it wends its way to a beautifully luscious ending.

Smells…

Dark berry fruits aromas with black cherries, wild raspberries infused with cinnamon doughnuts, hints of vanilla and baking spices.

Tastes...

A salivating, textural Pinot Noir with charisma and charm. Not your average up front and fruity Pinot, rather an exciting wine with vibrancy and sensual tannins that generously coat the entire palate and linger. A basket of mainly black fruit flavours persists, with dusty cinnamon and vanilla captured in a luscious texture on the finish. Already gorgeous in its youth, put some away as there’s no hurry to drink, it will age for 8-10 years or more. Gamey meats or pasta will go a treat with this wine.
