Description
Bayou Rum is distilled from locally grown sugarcane in southern Louisiana, USA. Our molasses comes from the oldest family-owned and operated sugar mill in the United States. Every batch of Bayou Rum is distilled in copper pot stills, and this reserve version is matured in bourbon barrels for up to 6 years using the Solera aging method and partially finished in sherry barrels.
A deep mahogany complexion with a stone fruit, plum and sandalwood on the nose, this complex spirit delivers orange marmalade and dark stone fruit with bursts of black currant and honey. Rounding out with a long, rich touch of smoke this 6 year old spirit lingers like the early morning mist that can only come from the Delta of Louisiana.
On the nose slightly floral mixed with cedar wood, tobacco and dried dark fruit which leads to a multi-layered and complex palate with hints of tobacco, prune and oak along with slight sunderlying sweetness. The finish is long and pleasantly dry with honey, black pepper and sherry
