Limited Edition

Only 8000 bottles produced!

Limited edition Matusalem Rum aged in Spanish Tempranillo red wine barrels!

Ron Matusalem was originally founded in Cuba in 1872. But when the Communistas threatened to confiscate not only the Rum but the means of production, they picked up the entire operation and moved it to the Dominican Republic. Their entire line of premium Rums are molasses-based and all of them are aged by the perpetual Solera method ensuring high quality and consistency across the board. This special release had Matusalem seek out some Spanish Tempranillo grape Solera casks. After being charcoal filtered, it was aged for another 3 years in the barrels, then finally blended with their Gran Reserva 15 Solera Rum. It's a limited edition as well with only 8,000 bottles produced. This Rum has red wine characters on both the aroma and palate, with hints of tropical fruit alongside spice and oak, finishing with a tannic undercurrent.

Smells

Inviting aromas reminiscent of Wine barrels give way to vanilla, tropical fruit, freshly-pressed grapes, pears, and cinnamon spice.

Tastes

There's more tropical fruit on the palate with a prominent pineapple note as well as spice and oak. Finishes medium-long with a tannic undercurrent.
