Plantation's O.F.T.D. (Old Fashioned Traditional Dark) over-proof rum was developed by seven of the world's top rum experts including David Wondrich, the cocktail historian and Alexandre Gabriel, Master Blender, Master distiller and owner of Plantation rum and Maison Ferrand in the cognac region of France. When they tried this incredible blend of over-proof rum for the first time, they said Oh F*** That's Delicious and that's how the play on words came about.
Smells
The Colour is a rich, red mahogany, the nose is perfumed, complex and fragrant with notes of coffee, orange, plum jam and french truffles.
Tastes
The palate is bursting with caramel cream, dark chocolate, full spice box and floral vanilla notes. It continues on with cinnamon, raisins, nutmeg, oak and molasses with subtle, smoky accents. The finish is long and lingering with darkest Belgian chocolate, clove and caramel. This is a sensational sipping rum that is surprisingly smooth, soft and sensuous for its strength and power.
