Description

Located just outside Dufftown in Speyside, the traditional methods of whisky production can still be seen on a distillery tour. They are one of the few distilleries that still malt their own barley on site. The Balvenie DoubleWood is the distillery's flagship whisky. Aged in refilled American oak casks before being treated to a spell in ex-Sherry casks, Balvenie Double Wood 12 year old is a benchmark malt, with lovely sweet nuttiness, with nutmeg, cinnamon, bourbon and vanilla. IWSC London 2016 Gold Outstanding and IWSC 2013 gold medal are but a few of the many awards this great whisky has won. Grab a bottle and find out why so many call this great malt their favourite tipple.

Smells

a lovely intertwining of spices, sultanas, grapes, honey with twists of nuttiness.

Tastes

A classic that is slightly sweet balanced by a rich and full body showing flavours of vanilla, toffee, coconut all woven together by a deep peat earthiness. Style: Cask and Barrel Aged
