Description

The vintage is the flagship of Miru Miru Sparkling range, 2017 was a triple Trophy-winning bubbles and just 1 of 9 Vintage Miru Miru Sparklings over a decade to be crowned Champion NZ Vintage Sparkling at the World’s toughest and premiere Bubbles Show… The “World Sparkling & Champagne Championships” in London. This 2018 is a vintage blend of 62% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 3% Pinot Meunier, with over 3 years on lees to develop those rich, nutty, and creamy autolysis characters that we so love. Tasting the 2018 we know this will accumulate equally as many trophies as the 2017 or even more. This is Kiwi Méthode Traditionnelle (made like Champagne) at its finest. Able to enjoy now, but with the depth and structure to age gracefully until 2027. With Champagne prices going through the roof… Miru Miru 2018 is a serious quality alternative at half the price.

Smells

Refined and crisp aromas of white peach and nectarine, citrus and a seductive wave of freshly baked bread.

Tastes

On the palate, it is well defined and full of life, white peach and nectarine in a creamy mousse buoyed by fine citrus acidity. Beautifully moreish bready, nutty lees complexity permeates the mid and rear palate: great mouthfeel with a bubbly-inspired minerality energising the long, elegant finish. Enjoy with goat’s cheese or kingfish sashimi. Just enjoy!
