Description
Chianti, Florence and the Ricasoli family have been closely linked since the mid-1100s and have been sending their wines around the world since the late 1600s. Famously they are the originators of the Chianti Classico blend, first created by Baron Bettino Ricasoli in 1872. This Rocca Guicciarda is a step-up Chianti Classico, sourced from five different vineyards, it has been aged in large format oak for 18 months, and then another 6 months in bottle.
Smells
Fragrant with bright red cherry, boysenberry, garrigue, spice and nuts.
Tastes
Medium-bodied with impressive length, polished tannins are balanced by racy acidity. Rich red berry-fruit meld with spice and oak complexities. Savoury, structured and serious. Best enjoyed with a fine piece of beef. Drink from 2024 to 2030+.
