Description
The second label of the region's flagship producer Palliser Estate, Pencarrow captures Martinborough's trademark sweet/savoury combination faithfully. Plenty of new oak visible on the palate, it's a sophisticated wine at a very accessible price point. A great mid-week drinker for the true Pinotphile.
Smells
Smoky oak, dried herbs, black and red cherries and liquorice.
Tastes
Juicy and medium-bodied, the red/black/green flavour combo of top Pinot Noir is in full flight with earthy herbal nuances complementing red and black cherry fruit. Fine integrated tannins caress the palate and provide a hugely rewarding drinking experience. Drink now or cellar through 2025 and serve with savoury pasta dishes or gamey meats.
