Crafted to express what Wild Earth consider to be the near-perfect Pinot Noir, it certainly captured the hearts and tastebuds of our Fine Wine Delivery Team in our recent Annual Pinot Noir Tasting. A wine with a strong sense of place, that of Central Otago and where the maker's mark errs on the side of elegance, perfume, and preservation of the purity of fruit, maintaining the true essence of this striking cool climate region.
Smells
an enticing bouquet of crushed thyme, wildflowers, violets with wet stones and an exciting mineral streak
Tastes
superb whole bunch handling combined with a vibrant juicy red fruit core, where the tannins meld seamlessly, especially with airtime. Raspberries are intertwined with earth, chalk dust, spice, and fresh herbs, expressing the harmony of the concentrated fruit and judicious winemaking techniques employed. The results are certainly near to perfection, a top wine that needs a couple of years of bottle age to achieve absolute perfection.
