Description
It started off as a little bit of fun for Aaron Woods (label designer) and marketer Nicholas Crampton and has now grown into an almost full-time labour of love. A step up from last year's Langhorne Creek fruit, this 2021 is sourced from the Barossa. Using heavily charred American oak barrels to create a full-bodied and rich Shiraz that is exceptionally pleasing, at a price that is even more pleasing!
Smells
Delicious aromas of blackberries, mulberries, black pepper, dark chocolate, smoky and dark spices.
Tastes
Not your average Aussie Shiraz, this shows more European characteristics, fruit combined with complexity where there is a dense core of fruit throughout the palate rather than upfront. Dark fruit flavours including plums, mocha, coffee grinds and fresh tobacco leaves are interwoven with dusty, grainy tannins and a fine acid line, giving length and drinkability. A refreshing take on an Aussie Shiraz. Celler for up to 5 years. Perfect with roasted red meats.
