Description
Always a beacon of value… it’s impossible to overstate the quality of this 2022 Esk Valley Chardonnay relative to normal let alone special price. Delightfully under-priced and over-endowed… it was one of the stars of the 2022 vintage. Crafted with best fruit - a mix of pure, piquant Gimblett Gravel’s with cooler inland river terraces vineyards. Crafted in one of NZ’s finest winemaking facilities, it’s fermented and aged in fine quality oak. Deliciously fruited with a creamy, biscuity core and a level of concentration rarely experienced in similarly priced wine. You’ll be spoilt every time you open a bottle.
Smells
Pure nectarine and peach highlighted against Anzac biscuit and hazelnut, with exciting nuances of pink grapefruit and struck match.
Tastes
Mouth-watering piquancy bursting with stone fruits, leading to a creamy, seductive centre of Anzac biscuit, vanilla, hazelnut. It’s outrageously rewarding for the money with a finish to die for.
