Misha's Vineyard

The meteoric rise of Misha's to one of NZ's finest Pinot Noirs can be attributed to having the best people working with the best raw materials. It began with a 2-year global search for the perfect site and the eventual decision to plant Pinot Noir on an unyielding and barren Bendigo sheep station, a site that viticultural guru Dr Richard Smart called "one of the best Pinot Noir vineyards I've ever seen." The quality has not been lost on the critics, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate has consistently named the Pinot Noirs in the top handful of NZ wines every year, alongside wines like Felton Road, Rippon and Kusuda. Domestically our top critics, Bob Campbell MW, Michael Cooper and Raymond Chan have all bestowed 5-Star ratings on the wines. International acclaim continued to roll in with Misha's Vineyard named in Decanter's Top 20 New Zealand wine producers in 2013 (all assessed on quality, not quantity). All this success is down to Misha and Andy's credo they learnt in the business world: No compromise. The wines are made with no expense spared by former Ata Rangi winemaker Olly Masters, himself a multiple winner of the Bouchard Finlayson trophy for Best Pinot Noir in the World.
