Description

Presented in a traditional ceramic bottle, this classic sloe gin recipe has been developed since 1874. Harvested when the first frosts arrive, wild sloe berries from blackthorn bushes which grow on limestone plateaus are left entirely to macerate in gin previously distilled at Maison Gabriel Boudier. All the aromas and colour of the flesh and the stones of the fruit are solubilised in the gin over a period of 5 weeks. Then a small amount of sugar is added to produce this traditional British liqueur. Burgundy red in colour. A great winters gin with a slice of lemon and fever tree soda water.

Smells

Sloe berry fruit, raspberry jam, cracked black pepper & faint almonds aromas on the nose followed by sloe and juniper with faint hints of citrus.

Tastes

On the palate is sloe and pronounced juniper with citrus, herbal and floral notes. Sweet and dry arriving at different defining points on the palate with a silky smooth taste and finish. Style: Sloe & Sweeter Best Paired: East Imperial Soda Water
