The Hendrick’s Gin Distillery hails from the tiny seaside village of Girvan, which lies in Ayrshire, south-west Scotland. The distillery lies just a mile inland and overlooks the mysterious volcanic island of Ailsa Craig. This alluring outcrop lies uninhabited, save for a few gannets and puffins, but features in many local legends. It was inspiration from this view that led to this gin. At its heart are the iconic Hendrick’s botanicals of Bulgarian Rosa Damascena and specially selected cucumbers from the finest producers, plus lemon peel, coriander seeds, elderflower and many other rare botans. But the sea is everything for Hendricks! Invigorated by a bracing breath of fresh coastal air and entranced by the endless living mysteries of the sea, Master Distiller Ms. Lesley Gracie considered a bold possibility: She longed to express the glorious sensory delights of the coast, as a gin. And so began Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin… this is a limited release that captures the magic of the sea, in a gin.
