Description

Martinborough Vineyard Te Tera is one of the most popular and cutting-edge quality 2nd tier Pinots in NZ. Martinborough’s vineyard was first planted in 1980 with new plantings occurring in the 1990’s. They acquired the award-winning mature vineyards of Burnt Spur circa 2000. Talented winemaker Paul Mason (joined MV in 2007) has always had lots of mature & genuine old vine fruit at his disposal. These days Te Tera is crafted from 20+ year old vines which hugely advantages the quality and character of a Pinot Noir at an incredibly accessible price point like this... some vineyards would like it as their 1st tier release. It’s a step up on most entry level Burgundy I have tasted. Another outstanding Te Tera!

Smells

Unwavering aromas of red and black cherry, plum, cedary oak, with gentle notes of dried herbs, oregano and thyme.

Tastes

Beautifully elegant and silky, with a creamy palate yielding considerable weight of red and black fruits. The excellent generosity is perfectly tempered by the elegant textural, tannin and acid mix. A superb Pinot Noir experience modestly priced. Enjoy now... no rush it will age nicely through 2027.
