Te Whare Ra have been legendary from their onset and since purchased by husband and wife team Anna and Jason it is all about love; the love of each other, their love of the land and their love of winemaking. Passion, dedication, and determination are words that describe this dynamic duo and all that they do and the wonderful wines they produce. Made in a classic dry style, it is a blend of Pinot Noir and Syrah, maintaining the house style of Te Whare Ra, wines with elegance, purity of fruit with great texture and complexity.
Smells
Seductive aromas of strawberries and cream with freshly baked shortbread underpinned by a perfumed lift of violets and rose petals.
Tastes
Initially this wine seems delicate, but it builds and builds with fruit weight and power giving way to a long, savoury and complex finish. Summer ripened berries flavours dominate with hints of mulberry and spices, all interwoven by a fine thread of acidity giving balance and harmony. Perfect this summer and a perfect pairing with summer picnics or barbecued anything.
