Description

One of the stalwarts of Kumeu, producing wines for three decades, and of recent times making excellent wines from different and exciting varieties other than the traditional French classics. Viognier originates from the Northern Rhone, France, likes a warmer climate, perfectly at home in Gisborne.

Smells

Aromas of fresh, warm corn cobs, rolls of straw baking in the sun, nectarines, peaches and hints of apricots.

Tastes

the palate shows the classic characteristics of the variety, a rich and full bodied structure, soft acidity with a long warm finish giving balance and drinkabilty. An oily texture with flavours of peach skin, beeswax and apricots. The richness of this wine is a perfect match for roasted chicken and pork dishes.
