Description
Te Whare Ra has long been recognized as one of Marlborough’s finest aromatic producers, and this 2020 Pinot Gris is indisputable proof. Crafted from the Berry-Smith clone, it is low cropping with small bunches and small berries. Hand-picked and hand-sorted, fermentation takes place in a mix of stainless steel and French oak with lees stirring.
Smells
Wonderfully aromatic, pear, apple, jasmine, ginger, and spice.
Tastes
So generous on the palate, the pear and apple come to the fore. The old oak provides a wonderful texture, while vibrant acidity gives the wine great balance, length, and energy. A dry style that lingers on the palate. Drink now, but would continue to evolve until 2026, serve with a bounty of Thai dishes.
