Description
Renowned sailors, the Butterworths are the new custodians of Julicher where every bottle carries the J-Knot, the strongest knot you can tie, a tribute to their vineyard founder, Wim Julicher. Grown on the famous Te Muna Road terraces just to the south of the Martinborough township. The grapes for their 2022 Dry Riesling were handpicked, made with a light touch to preserve fruit purity. Crisp and refreshing, perfect as an aperitif.
Smells
Hedonistic aromas of roses lime juice, kaffir lime leaves, ripe pears with lime zest.
Tastes
A textural, oily viscosity gives direction, drive, and drinkability to this stellar Riesling. Strong flavours of lime zest resonate throughout, with fennel seeds and sea salt on the finish. Rich and concentrated with a salivating, salty, oyster shell-like finish, simply delicious. Enjoy now and over the next 3-5 years with cheese, salads, summer dishes, or even a cheeky pork belly dish.
