Description
Main Divide must be one of the most ambitious entry level labels on the market. Where others are happy to make fruit forward, approachable wines, Pegasus Bay have kept the house winemaking style sheet right next to the tank on this wine, including a portion of botrytised grapes giving the wine a apricot and ginger spiced complexity. Trusted, tried and true to this label, where the 2022 is stonking with a gorgeous little spritz (natural CO2 in solution) giving an added sparkle.
Smells
Wild honey, lime, honeysuckle, and apple.
Tastes
Tropical fruits like mango and mandarin, lime, candied ginger, and apricots. An off dry and luscious style of Riesling with complex textural interest and style to burn. The balance of fruit and acid is nothing short of perfect. Enjoy between now and 2028. Expect a prickle of CO2 on the palate. Serve with all Asian cuisine or a cheese platter.
