Description
At Fine Wine Delivery, we’ve always championed Wairau River wines for their quality at modest and accessible prices. They are our number one go to for so many customers. And their black label (reserve wines) is genuinely next level, evident in this reserve Sauvignon Blanc. A lightly oaked style, of a quality level, but more subtle than the famous Cloudy Bay Te Koko and more accessibly priced. A richer, fuller bodied style compared to most Marlborough Savvy with superior texture, palate weight and length. A must try.
Smells
Lifted aromas of passionfruit pulp and even as far a passionfruit cheesecake, a heady perfume that is simply irresistible, followed by ripe gooseberries and subtle toasty oak.
Tastes
The palate is focused with an endearing roundness in the middle due to subtle barrel fermentation and maturation. The creamy texture and additional richness emanate from lees ageing. Less overt on the nose but incredibly rewarding on the palate where it counts! A great drink, think a dry white wine that’s elegantly barrel fermented. Drinking well now and serve with fresh seafood.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
