Description
One of the first ever Rosé Champagnes, Lanson is a blend of 53% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier... the final assemblage carefully selected from ten different vintages before spending 30-months ageing in bottle on lees and 6-months settling in bottle prerelease. The black Pinot grapes give it structure, length and charming wild berry, savoury flavours... the Chardonnay adds mid palate richness and creaminess and a hint of stone and citrus fruits. Enticingly creamy with seductive flavours and very fine bubbles... delicious lunchtime and pre and post dinner enjoyment.
Smells
Beautifully floral with tangy strawberries and raspberries, toasted hazelnuts and shortcake.
Tastes
A perfect pale pink colour, the mousse is oh so creamy yet fine. The seductive red berry, savoury, hazelnut and shortcake flavours are set in a wonderful chalky texture buoyed by billions of fine bubbles. The length is long and caressing. Perfect now with salmon sashimi... smoked salmon... richer seafoods, charcuterie and creamy blue cheeses... or just enjoy!
