Description
Since 1760 Lanson have been producing Champagne, and in that 250+ years they have only made the Gold Label Vintage in the truly exceptional year. 2009 was one such year. A blend of 53% Pinot Noir and 47% Chardonnay, exclusively from Grand Crus and aged on lees for a minimum of five years, the 2009 Lanson Gold Label is expressive and bold, while still retaining the elegance the house is known for.
Smells
Lemon zest and white peaches, with brioche complexity
Tastes
Vibrant and pure, overflowing with citrus and stonefruit. Aged brioche notes seem to only be developing. The bubbles are fine and the acidity vibrant. It lingers long on the palate. Drink now with soft cheese, but you could cellar up to 2025+.
