Description

This 5 Gold Medal & Quadruple 5-Star Reserve Single Vineyard Coonawarra Cabernet is a sought-after premium label in Australia and key export markets. Right now, global markets, plus the Aussie market are circa 20% down and cancelled export orders like this are happening regularly. In this instance, this high-profile winery is secretly CLEARING their cancelled export order in NZ exclusively through Fine Wine Delivery’s trusted “Hidden Label” program at a phenomenal $16.99 bottle. We’ve been protecting high-profile brands like this via our Hidden Label program since 2007. Mum’s the word… buy on trust (5 Gold Medals & 4 x 5-Star ratings should fill you with confidence) all will be revealed when it arrives on your doorstep wearing its normal label. 2022 vintage in Coonawarra was perfect in quality and quantity. The cool start to the summer and a long dry ripening period provided time for the grapes to develop excellent colour and concentration of flavour. Harvested from a single vineyard in southern Coonawarra… a region world renowned for its Terra Rossa soils. Red clay, and limestone with a high iron content, give distinctive characters unique to Cabernet from Coonawarra, a world classic. This is an extraordinary export CLEARANCE price tag of $16.99 for genuine Reserve Single Vineyard Cabernet. With 5-7 years of quality drinking life… you’d be wise to grab a case! Other sub $20 Cabernet bears little resemblance to the absolute quality of this Hidden Label release.

Smells

Lovely aromatics with true Cabernet character, lifted blueberry and blackcurrant fruits, hints of violet and flowering thyme, dried autumn leaf and subtle toast.

Tastes

The palate is laden with fresh blue and dark berry fruits infused with floral and savoury characters plus seductive hints of cocoa and fine cedary oak. It is medium bodied and flows through the palate with a nice line of fine tannin wrapped around a strong persistence of fruit. A delicious Cabernet drinking well now through 2028-2030 and will match with BBQ beef or pork ribs.

Great, well balanced Coonwarra Cab Sav. Fantastic wine at this price. Will get more and keep some to see how it develops over time.

This wine was lovely, with its deep, robust flavours of blackcurrant and dark chocolate and a hint of oak. Its silky tannins and long, satisfying finish make it a pleasure to drink. It's a top choice for Cabernet Sauvignon lovers!

Great quality Coonawara Cab Sav, at an exceptional price. Enjoyed well on a rainy night with an Indian meal and a Warriors game!

Another good Coonawarra wine with lovely flavours and great value.

An excellent wine with decanting. Highly recommended.

Dark, blackberry, smooth, easy drinking.

This has to be the most outstanding bargain I’ve had so far. A really unctuous full and delicious wine. At glass number two I asked was this really an Aussie wine it just had something extra. Would recommend Just Buy - if there’s any left??- to everyone

One of the best examples of Cab Sav that I have had in a number of years. Lovely drinking now

Lovely Wine

16th June 2024 | Mark Skinner

This was what I'd expect from a Coonawarra Cab Sav - full flavour and well balanced. I'm coming back for more at this price. My friends who tried it with me agreed.

16th June 2024 | John Lockhart

The most difficult thing to stomach about this wine is the end of your last bottle. As you chastise your conservative past self who daren’t have wagered on further stocks of this hidden label heavy hitter - you’ll be left with the memory of the most balanced forest floor and dark berry specimen you’d ever savoured in this bracket. A delightful winter companion for many more to come, or just this one.

I gifted this wine to new wine drinkers and it was well received. Enjoyed it myself, great value

15th June 2024 | Margaret Spencer

This is nice, nice and complex on the nose and taste buds, absolutely better than the price

15th June 2024 | Andrew Rogers

Simply delicious wine, typical of Coonawarra, lovely smooth flavors, now a firm favorite.

15th June 2024 | Sue Stewart

a superb red representing coonawarra at its best, great value for the price

15th June 2024 | Diane Merritt

Big wine full of grunt especially once decanted for an hour. Had to try two as guests kept putting their glasses out?

15th June 2024 | Gary Pauley

I am often dubious about drinking such your cabernets, but this is a finely crafted wine full of delicious brambley primary fruit and fine grained tannins. Likely it would age, but I am planning to drink now.

15th June 2024 | Rodney Downey

Delicious layered dark berry fruits, subtle well integrated oak with soft fine tannins, this is obviously a well put together wine that deserves attention. Beautifully balanced and will also reward further cellaring but approachable in its youth if you like a wine with a decent bit of backbone and structure.

15th June 2024 | Brent King

Great tasting cabernet sauvignon that will only get better with cellaring! We purchased 4 bottles to try and will order more.
