Description

Winner of Best Wine and Best Margaret River Cabernet at the 2019 James Halliday Cabernet Challenge & Wine of Show, Best Red Wine, and Best Cabernet Sauvignon at the 2019 Margaret River Wine Show. We are sure the 2021 will follow suit. Anyone familiar with Margaret River will know that the region commands a very supreme price point for its wines. This is primarily due to the outstanding quality consistently coming out of there, with a lot of Australia's top producers calling the place their home. Ringbolt have long produced great quality wines at a price point accessible to everyone, which is not a common thing to see. The 2021 vintage was another great one, with a long even ripening period helping to create the concentrated and complex Cabernet characters. This wine is very approachable now but will reward with careful cellaring through 10+ years.

Smells

Ripe blackcurrant, cassis, tobacco, and blueberry, with an underlying character of nutmeg and vanilla – courtesy of new oak maturation in French and American barriques.

Tastes

Full-bodied, with dark blackberry and cassis, abound and a whiff of eucalyptus. There are dashes of chocolate helping to round out the chalky tannin structure and to support the long, long finish. If you cannot wait 10 years, decant just prior to serving and best paired with a juicy, succulent fillet of beef or throw a T-bone steak on the BBQ.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
