Description
Powerful yet elegant, this 2018 Soler Cabernet Sauvignon is from Gimblett Gravels by way of St-Julien. 90% Cabernet Sauvignon with 10% Merlot from the Omahu Gravels and Vidal Vineyard, two close planted vineyards situated in Gimblett Gravels. The grapes were handpicked and fermented before maturation in French Oak barriques for 20 months (49% new).
Smells
Sweet cassis and cigar box burst from the glass. Tobacco, olive and herbs are the rewards for careful appraisal.
Tastes
Sweet cassis and red currant clamour for your attention, spice and oaky notes mingle freely. There is power of fruit and elegance of structure. Tannins are fine and drying, acidity is vibrant. Drink now until 2030. Enjoy with hard cheeses, Cheddar and Stilton.
