Description
The Fleurieu encompasses McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek (the two sub-regions where the grape for this Cabernet comes), with smaller parcels from Currency Creek, Kangaroo Island and Southern Fleurieu. Crafted by the redoubtable Ben Riggs, with 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Tempranillo adding a savoury edge to the delicious black fruits. Post fermentation it spends 12 months in new and seasoned French oak, creating a velvet like texture threading the plush fruit. Pretty delicious Cabernet, hard to take your hands off the glass.
Smells
A classic Cabernet nose, cassis, liquorice, cigar box, spices and cocoa.
Tastes
Smooth, rich and mouth-filling, this delicious Cabernet is all about blackberry and cassis with lovely spice and oak adding to the complexity. Juicy tannins provide texture and the chocolate-tinged finish keeps on keeping on. Luscious and lavish now, will cellar until 2027. Enjoy with BBQ’d venison medallions or stuffed capsicums... utterly delicious by itself.
