Description

If the label of Ducluzeau looks strangely familiar to Bordeaux lovers, it should... Chateau Ducluzeau is owned by Bruno Borie, owner of the iconic Second Growth Ducru Beaucaillou in St Julien. Ducluzeau is a much more affordable alternative to the $300+/bottle, the 10ha vineyard in Listrac being planted to 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon (the highest percentage of Merlot in the entire appellation).

Smells

Classic Bordeaux through and through – with beautiful notes of liquorice, rose, plum and blackberry, gloriously sauvage (wild in French).

Tastes

The word here is harmony, everything in proportion and laid out beautifully on the detailed palate. Soft and welcoming but with enough depth to pique your interest, it’s at its best between 2025 and 2028. If you cannot resist, decant just prior to serving.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
