Description
A very hot season in Tuscany, Le Volte 2019 is mostly Merlot and the rest a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet, perfectly capturing the legendary Ornellaia feel at a fraction of the cost. Impressively structured and quite generous, it's well suited to medium term cellaring through 2026.
Smells
A warm, inviting nose of dried herbs, warm earth, underbrush and plums, with a hint of leather and black cherry.
Tastes
Full-bodied and generous with a broad-shouldered tannin structure and clean, precise palate with hints of rocky earth and cherries. A serious wine for an altogether reasonable price, this Baby Ornellaia will drink well now and over the next decade and made for roasted red meats.
