Description
A NZ first and exclusive to Fine Wine Delivery customers. This classic Tempranillo is full of ripe, juicy moreishness… you may well guess its price to be $20 +… if you didn’t know the stunning price we are offering. Valdepeñas means “valley of stones” and the town of the same name has a history of winemaking which stretches back as far as the 7th Century BC. Hand-picked, perfectly ripe Tempranillo grapes are harvested from rocky vineyards at the start of September. Fermentation is in stainless steel tanks for 8-10 days at controlled temperatures between 24-28°C and is bottled after a short time in contact with oak. The abundance of ripe, juicy fruit and subtle savoury oak with mixed spices is all charm… the perfect quaffing red that maintains its interest for you from one glass to the next.
Smells
lifted aromas of sun-baked strawberries, cedar, bramble, mint, and spice draw you into the glass.
Tastes
Abundant flavours in a fruit-forward style with a savoury thread and underlying spices making for superb quaffing that you shouldn’t tire of. This Tempranillo has fine grain, chalky tannins, and a crystalline acid thread typical to quality Pinot Noir, making it a quintessential BBQ red. If you love Pinot, then we are almost certain you will love this. And value for money, NZ Pinot could not compare. Drinking well now through 2025.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
