Description
An incredibly vibrant and explosive red with loads of drink-young charm, this versatile red even takes a light chilling in the fridge very well. It pours a bright crimson in colour, but make no mistake, this is no Rose. Te Mata reckons Gamay could one day compete with Pinot as NZ’s most popular light-bodied red and given what you normally get for a similar price, they may have a point!
Smells
Lively bright boysenberry, blueberry, and cloves with a charming floral quality.
Tastes
As it smells, a vivacious bright berry and cherry character to it, this is a great fare at both room temperature and slightly chilled with an antipasto platter. This is definitely the red wine of choice for summer drinking!
