Description
Spy Valley have very established and proven vineyards in the Waihopai Valley, and consistently produce wines of excellent varietal typicity, good flavour and concentration, delivering a serious step up in fruit purity. This superb 2022 Pinot Gris was handpicked from two blocks over 2 days – a time consuming process that ensures only the best fruit is used. A combination of stainless vessels and a larger format wooden oval were used adding weight, depth, and structure to the very affordable Gris. Magnificent in its youth but can be enjoyed up to 5 years from vintage.
Smells
Nashi pear, apple, baking spices and honeysuckle and hints of Seville oranges.
Tastes
Rich, viscous palate with very ripe stone fruits evolving to baking spices, nutty and baked pear flavours with succulent natural acids to engage you into a second glass; enjoy through to 2027 with your favourite roasted white meats or vegetarian dishes. Recommended serving temperature is 7-10 degrees.
