Description
The 2019 harvest was preceded by a short heatwave in January which lead to early ripening of grapes, although overall conditions that were very good and what eventually came into the winery was of exceptional quality. Leading to a more open, soft and inviting Craighall Riesling than usual.
Smells
A heady rush of grilled lime, delicate white florals and mineral notes, with a trace of orange sherbert.
Tastes
Lovely limey grip on the entry, with electrifying acidity and green apple sorbet that refreshes the palate, the energy and vibrancy gives you a sense of the wine’s future. Clean, crisp and as pure as the driven snow, the palate is but of a preview of the Oscar-winning feature film this wine will become. Enjoy it from 2019 with Asian inspired cuisine but keep some on hand to watch it develop over the next 10-20 years.
