Description
Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains is the king of white varieties when making sweet wines. Prized for its perfumed aromas and flavours, achieving a balance, poise, and class few other varieties can. Rutherglen Muscat is a superb example of the wine style gems this variety can make. Rutherglen Muscat is fortified stopping the fermentation producing a sweet wine which then ages in barrel. Rutherglen Muscat, is the first rung on the quality ladder and where the wine must age from 3 to 5 years in old barrels. This ageing process increases concentration and adds slightly more developed, and nutty aromas and flavours.
Smell: you can simply smell the nose all night long, lifted orange blossom, orange peel, cold tea, with hints of raisins soaking in port, baking spice and vanilla pods
Tastes: One sip and you will think all your Christmas’s have come at once. Lusciously aromatic, with burnt orange butter flavours, butter and honey slathered on freshly toasted sourdough and hints of burnt toffee on the finish. The whole experience is sublime. Serve with dried fruits, nuts, and hard cheese.
