Cuatro Palmas is an extremely rare forty-year-old Sherry. To put that in context, the grapes were harvest in August of 1981, made into wine and have been resting in barrel ever since, that’s a long time, half a lifetime or more in some people’s case. Drawn in tiny quantities from six casks known as ‘Museo Solera’. One of the best Amontillado styles ever….
Smells
an all stopping bouquet of rich, nutty, fruit cake with dark chocolate, tobacco and cedar.
Tastes
Deep in colour, a rich, yet dry wine with superb texture and tremendous length. The fullness on the palate is striking, yet without excess, how they achieve this, is unfathomable. One is not to understand, rather sit back, sip, enjoy and let all the cares in your world slip away. Nothing could focus you more on the presence than a glass of Cuatro Palmas in hand.
