Description

In theory Cru Bourgeois is a level below Cru Classé, but there are some high-quality bargains like this to be had. With 2 Gold Medals and 2 91s the Chateau d'Escurac showcases what Cabernet can do in an excellent vintage. A powerful blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot.

Smells

A complex bouquet of fruit, spice, herb, graphite, old leather and oak.

Tastes

Delicious entry onto the palate with a juicy array of dark fruits and spices in abundance. They're infused with savoury, baking spice elements and classic Bordeaux graphite, leather and dried leaf complexities within a fine grained body of tannin. Endearing hints of chocolate and subtle saltiness emerge in its lengthy, juicy finish. Enjoy through 2025-2035.

Dark ruby, medium legs and nice aroma of black cherry and plum. Tangy first sip. Subdued cherry and oak in second sip. Then more oak, cedar and blackberry. Nice aftertaste, but needs more time. (my review has 47 likes on Vivino)
