Description
The winemaking spec sheet for the Mills Reef Reserve wines always makes for great reading, perhaps that's why they are always among the first wines to sell out every year. The 2020 Cabernet Merlot has an amazing 35% new oak, a blend of French and American hogsheads, in which the wine was aged for 12 months. The final blend was composed, comprising 77% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Merlot, from a rigorous barrel selection. Judged to have already attained perfect harmony. A full and generous style, it's a perfect fireside or BBQ red for summer.
Smells
Cedary oak, cassis, plum and dark chocolate.
Tastes
Juicy and sweetly fruited with lots of ripe, dark fruits and soft, lush tannins, it's a wine of charm that puts a big smile on your dial.
