Description

A Chilian cult wine from the Don Melchor Vineyard, located at the foot of the Andes Mountains on the northern bank of the Maipo River, 650 m above sea level. It consists of 127 hectares, planted with 90% Cabernet Sauvignon; 7.1% Cabernet Franc, 1.9% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot. The vines in the old vineyard average 35 years of age. Only the best is given to the making of this Cabernet Sauvignon, and where it spends 15 months in 72% new French barrels and the rest second use. And its scores are off the charts, a whopping 99 points from James Suckling and 96 points + Wine of the Year from Wine Spectator

Smells

wine from this vintage shows an extraordinary elegance with an abundance of fresh red fruit and notes of blackcurrants and wildflowers on the nose.

Tastes

On the palate, it has an enormous wealth of flavours, with breadth from beginning to end. A wine of immense energy with a harmony of the fruit, texture, purity and elegance. The tannins are silky smooth encapsulating the pristine fruit. A wine to behold and will cellar for 15 years +. A wine that will pair with red meats, lamb, game and duck and hard, aged cheese.
