Description

If the label of Chateau Cantelaude-Borie looks strangely familiar to Bordeaux lovers, it should... because the chateau is owned by Bruno Borie, owner of the iconic Second Growth Ducru Beaucaillou in St Julien. This wine is a much more affordable alternative to the $300+/bottle. An excellent blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot.

Smells

Classic Bordeaux through and through - with beautiful notes of liquorice, rose, plum and blackberry.

Tastes

The word here is harmony, everything in proportion and laid out beautifully on the detailed palate. Soft and welcoming but with enough depth to pique your interest, it's at its best after 2 hours in a decanter or 10-15 years from vintage.

Dark Ruby turning purple, medium legs and nice black fruit. Plenty of oak with blackcurrant. Likely to improve with age. (37 likes for my review on Vivino)
