Not a wine I would typically purchase but I bought in to the story and was thoroughly impressed. This wine has a lot of presence but does not impose itself too strongly. While I enjoyed it unaccompanied it really comes into its own with a BBQ steak. Thanks for the recommendation FWD.

I bought a box, and then bought another. I am a big fan of Bordeaux/Saint-Émilion reds and this one ticks all the boxes without the big price tag. It's smooth, not too heavy and tastes best after at least 1 hour in the decanter.

26th May 2022 | Faye McKinney

Dark Red colour, fruity nose, full in tannins. Takes good 8 hours to decanter.

26th May 2022 | Serge

Great wine @ $25. Many thanks.

25th May 2022 | Luc Tran

Delicious and approachable red Bordeaux. Excellent value if you enjoy this style of wine.

25th May 2022 | Oliver Denize

Was so fortunate to land myself with this well balanced bottle of wine. On the nose was pleasant ripe dark fruit of plum and cassis, and taste was bold and bright with great length and medium tannin. For this price, it will not last sitting on shelf for the next month.

25th May 2022 | Joey Tan

Very well priced for a Bordeaux wine of this rating - improves noticeably after decanting for a couple of hours and left to breathe.

25th May 2022 | Max Ross

Wow Wow!! A beautiful full flavour wine very smooth and full bodied with beautiful aroma that whiffed up your nose while enjoying it. Will not find another fantastic wine like that in NZ for that price. I can see why it received 97 points and stunned the judges. My experience took me back to Fine Wine company to buy 12 more bottles. Great wine!!!

25th May 2022 | Michael

This fine has all the elements one would hope for in a fine Bordeaux claret and represents astonishing value for money.

25th May 2022 | Greg Goodall

We liked it so much we ordered more. Excellent value

25th May 2022 | John Davidson

Excellent value! Notes of plum and cherry. Dry and well balanced. Very drinkable

24th May 2022 | Mia

Great colour in the glass and depth of flavour. Spice and cigar aromas with rich red plummy fruit that follows through to the palette. Well balanced with silky smooth tannins and a pleasing finish

24th May 2022 | Mark Richards

Great depth of flavour and soft tannins - perfect pairing with eye fillet cooked medium rare

24th May 2022 | Anne

Absolutely a steal at this price and a great intro to Bordeaux

24th May 2022 | Chris

2018 was a very good year for Bordeaux wines and this does not disappoint. Good depth of colour, blackberry on the nose with a mellow fruitiness on the palate. Some complexity, though more "laid back" than higher priced Bordeaux's. At the price-point excellent value and a good introduction to right-bank wines.

24th May 2022 | Mike McLoughlin

Have only had one bottle of the shipment purchased from Fine Wine - wow. I am saving the rest for special occasions.

24th May 2022 | Paul Meiring

This is an absolute bargain. A typical bordeaux with the bones of Cab Sav and the smoothness of Merlot. This is a real find and even if you don't always agree with the experts you will this time.

24th May 2022 | Peter Robert Mooney

Sooo smooth and tasty! I wasn't sure what to expect (though the product description was pretty compelling) but I was blown away by the initial mouth feel, the layers of flavours and the lingering taste in the back of the mouth. I've actually cellared some to try over the years (and I NEVER do that) by hiding three bottles from myself in the garage in a hard-to-get-to place (yes that's a thing!) Totally recommend this wine and what appears to be an unbelievable bargain price! Cheers :)

24th May 2022 | Kate Potter

An impressive drinking Bordeaux that is exceptional value.

24th May 2022 | John Whittle

I loved this wine, rich flavour and silky smooth. The next bottle I will decanter to help open it up. I will most likely cellar the remainder for a couple more years.

24th May 2022 | Mike McManaway

Good value. A typical Bordeaux wine with good fruit and plenty of ageing to go.

24th May 2022 | Keith Mackenzie

On words can describe on this price, just try it, you will never feel regret. Thanks Michael to recommend. Brilliant

24th May 2022 | Andy

This has to be a 5, especially but NOT exclusively at this price. Tasted with friends over a French Lamb and rosemary dish. "Enticing herbal nose, very smooth drinking (merlot predominant), with mild tannins." Beautiful - my host ordered 6 stat., and I added 6 to the cellar!

24th May 2022 | Keith Gross

Dark purple in colour, Notes of black Doris plums and blackberry. Light spice, woody tones. Extremely drinkable! A fantastic wine that brings warmth and soul to the occasion

24th May 2022 | John

A good wine that opened up well after decanting and being left to breathe for a couple of hours

24th May 2022 | Pete Clarke

Think exquisite French red, that is great on the nose, and even better in your mouth. This Bordeaux blend won't disappoint, and is priced to be a stunner!

23rd May 2022 | Lloyd Wong

A forward style more suggestive of the new world than traditional Bordeaux. Concentrated and a complex range of flavours. Quite delicious.

23rd May 2022 | Matthew

A beautiful wine! Fantastic for the price.

23rd May 2022 | Andree Froude

this wee number is superb . Price extremely good , for the value of that which is in the bottle. Have been back for more . once again FWDC has excelled for their customers

23rd May 2022 | Dennis Farmiloe

I'm a Hawkes Bay Bordeaux blend guy , but this is a really well priced typical right bank Bordeaux that offers a softer, maybe more elegant and contrasting style. Don't choose - both should be in your cellar and $25 is only a little above what I tell my wife all our "drinkers" cost !!

23rd May 2022 | Murray Tait

Good for sure and well worth the money, may need some time, look to buy more enough to ensure you get the taste, then settle the balance in your cellar.

23rd May 2022 | Philip Pryde

An interesting wine, an unoaked Bordeaux! Fruit driven wine ready for early drinking. Can't help but wonder how much better it would have been oaked?!

23rd May 2022 | Wayne Cutfield

Stunning wine for the price. I was very pleased with my 6 bottles. Only wish I had purchased 12!

23rd May 2022 | Sean Quinlivan

I think the word here is 'stonking'! A wonderful, full bodied, well rounded delicious wine with a great nose and the taste of ripe plums and berry fruit. Such good value for such a great wine.

23rd May 2022 | Penny MacArthur

Great structure and fruit. A great find FWDC team. I will hide some more away.

23rd May 2022 | Greig Duncan

Excellent value for a Bordeaux red at this price point.

23rd May 2022 | Dennis Smith

Juicy, rich and smooth... You will not be disappointed!

23rd May 2022 | Mike K

A wonderful wine and as described The beautiful deep rich colour was the first wow… I shy away a bit with European wines as there are so many and some not to my taste I highly recommend this wine But, to me it was as you described and for the price it is a steal, I am going right now to order more Thx Tracey, well done

23rd May 2022 | Jim Campbell

Great value Merlot. Nicely balanced with gentle tannins, a little on the heavy side but drinking well now.

23rd May 2022 | Sarah Massey

Richly fruited, generous and full flavoured, this has been my go to food wine as winter sets in. Not a quaffer, but great value for money in its price bracket!

23rd May 2022 | Glen McLeod

This took me back to Europe. A bargain and looking forward to the other bottles- have put one away to enjoy in the future too.

23rd May 2022 | Sue Campbell

A very impressive wine and great value for money. Thanks FWD.

23rd May 2022 | paul nicolson

Forget the acolades and trophies Simply pour a glass or three and enjoy this superb Bordeaux at a reasonable price

23rd May 2022 | Charles

Lovely pure fruit, moderate concentration, ripe tannins. Not much oak evident.

23rd May 2022 | Hannes Sohnge

I would say this is one of the half dozen best wines I have tasted. It is a perfect storm of sensations. So far I have had a bottle with each of two friends but I need to sit down by myself with a bottle and try to really work it out. So much going on. Mike

23rd May 2022 | Mike Askew

Collecting Bordeaux for 30 years-this beats many classed growths in the top 100 or so.Resembles Chat Gazin without the depth however.Enjoyed it and wished I had more.(On a pension now) Even tried it with pork! If there is more over next 1-2 months I shall be in.

23rd May 2022 | Bryan Frost

Great value wine. Good enough that I ordered a 2nd case.

23rd May 2022 | Steve Abbott

This wine surprises, with intense aromas of fruit and well-balanced tannins. A soft wine, it shows concentrated flavors and a lingering after-taste.

23rd May 2022 | David Adlam

Excellent option, great value at this price.

23rd May 2022 | Simon
