Pessac-Leognan (impossible to pronounce) is a small area within the region of Graves, Bordeaux which has the best red and white wine producing chateaux of Graves. If this region is on the label, it is a very good sign of quality. Graves (translates to gravels) and this wine tastes of the gravelly soils as evident by the grainy, mouth puckering tannins. A Merlot dominant wine 65%, yet where the regional stamp is stronger. Ideal for the cellar for 12-15 years and reap the rewards.
65% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon

strong blackcurrant aromas with a leafy, herbal vein that gives excitement and balance to the rich, ripe berry fruits.

A tight, sinewy structure now with an excellent concentrated mid-palate, where the mouth coating tannins cling to your inside cheeks, persistently. Blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaf flavours supported by fennel, fresh tobacco leaves are enveloped in the vanilla dark chocolate and vanilla nuances of the oak barrels. Essential to cellar and the rewards will be incredible in the future.
