Description
Thornbury vineyards are in the heart of Hawkes Bay's premium red winegrowing region. With its stony soils and sun-drenched conditions, there is simply no better place to grow Merlot in New Zealand. The fruit was harvested then gently destemmed and crushed to tanks. The fermentation was pumped over daily on skins to maximize colour and tannin extraction. The wine was pressed at dryness and maturated on French oak staves for 12 months.
