Unison is a red wine specialist crafting wines off a special six-hectare plot of Gimblett Gravels terroir planted with Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard was originally double density planted to encourage natural low fruit yields per vine enabling the growing of consistently fully ripened and healthy grapes every year. Although Rocky Red is the more accessibly priced entry to Unison wines… it’s made with similar care and attention of their Prestige releases. Hand harvested older vine Gimblett Gravel’s fruit is traditionally basket pressed and aged in fine French oak. Luscious full-bodied Merlot Cabernet that will drink well through 2030+ such is the quality on offer.

Classic plum and dark berry of serious generosity unravels throughout the palate with cedary oak, nutmeg spice, fine chocolate and subtle dried herbs layering the fruit. The creamy texture and mouth-coating tannins add to its composure and attractive mouthfeel. The juicy, concentrated finish has energy and great length. Very approachable now and worth the effort of a light (30-minute) decant preserving… at its best through 2028-2031.
