Description
You know you’re in for a treat when you have Central Otago legends Matt and James Dicey – the winemakers and viticulturalists behind many of Central Otago’s most famed wines. The Artist Collection from Ceres is reserved only for the best fruit, from the best vintages off selected vineyards. The Inlet Single Vineyard in Bannockburn produces dense low yielding fruit that offers immense concentration and complexity. This 2019 Chenin Blanc is the inaugural released under this label. Its easy to see why they released this wine under their premium label, quite frankly it is stunning.
Smells
classic aromas of Chenin Blanc, pears with hints of bruised apples, honeysuckle giving way to prince melon and lemon zest.
Tastes
A wonderful collision of two worlds, Old world meets New World in the glass. This shows the energy, power, and class of a Chenin Blanc from the Vouvray, Loire Valley (home of Chenin) with abundant fruitiness of NZ. Ripe pear, honeysuckle with a sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg lead to a salivating, stone sucking lemon zing giving balance, length and drive. Slightly off-dry with a dry finish, no rush to drink as will age 10 years +, perfect with cheese or rich seafood dishes.
