Description
Albrino, the new kid on the block, from Rias Baixas (don’t even attempt to say it, impossible), basically North-west Spain, situated near the Atlantic and its cooling onshore winds. Making this a very fashionable, cool climate region of Spain today. The grapes were selected from a constellation of small vineyards grown on both trellis and pergola systems (traditional training system in the region). Made into a fresh and fruity style with added complexity due to lees ageing.
Smells
classic Albarino aromas of ripe Golden Queen peach skin, pineapple, freshly cut hay with hints of thyme and lemon zest.
Tastes
A rich, creamy palate with a fine, salivating, and lively acidity, giving balance, length, and interest. Stone fruit flavours, greengage plums, and green melons with a salty, lemon zest that gives drive and drinking pleasure. The prefect white wine; unoaked, fruity, moderate alc (13%), interesting and dynamic. A must try over the next couple of years and enjoy with seafood.
