Description

Duncan Forsyth has become something of an unofficial spokesperson for the Central Otago wine region, his combination of serious winemaking credibility and an incredibly personable nature are a rare combination. Aromatic whites are becoming a real specialty for this boutique family-owned winery, their technical skill in making textured Pinot Gris like this transferring into such grapes as Pinot Blanc, Gruner Veltliner and Albarino to name but a few. This 2018 Mount Edward Pinot Gris is a masterstroke, a dry style with lovely nutty textural elements.

Smells

Lifted florals mingle with white apples. almond and pear, a hint of freshly baked bread or apple pie suggested too.

Tastes

A nuanced and textural style of Pinot Gris, with a hint of cream on the palate juxtaposing brilliantly against the pristine Granny Smith apple and toasted nut flavours. Complex and dry, it will be a pleasure to drink with roast pork and poultry, or just by itself over the next 5-6 years.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
