Wild Earth is a dream of Californian born Quintin Quider, originally a commercial diver by trade, attracted to NZ for its endless ocean bounty. A series of ear issues meant Quintin had to look at his second love, the perfect accompaniment to seafood...wine!

Wild Earth is all about matching good food with good wine. And if you're ever in Central Otago go visit them at their Stoaker Room Bar & Bistro, where a unique food and wine experience reflects the welcoming spirit of NZ hospitality.

Seductive, elegant, and made for food, this is a deceptively complex wine with oodles of cellaring potential up to 10 years with quality storage. Made from a truly stunning vintage and with quality fruit from two separate parcels in the Gibbston Valley and Lowburn sub-regions, from vines up to 17 years of age.
25% of the juice was fermented in seasoned French Barrels giving it a hallmark complexity and mouthfeel, often lacking in more commercial Pinot Gris.

Made by 2020 Gourmet Traveller's NZ Winemaker of the Year, Jen Parr's midas touch of winemaking is a global sensation these days! With 28 vintages in just 16 years, this gives some insight into her incredible passion and enthusiasm for wine, and the rare breadth of knowledge and experience she has amassed dividing her time between Northern and Southern hemispheres! Originally from Oregon, Jen fell in love with NZ back in 2003 and has called it her home ever since!

With poached pear, lime and elderflower on the nose and just a touch of salinity too. It's an elegant dry style with crunchy pears, apples and zesty citrus, and a minerality that cuts through on the lingering finish.

This exceptional dry styled Pinot Gris, is a classic combination of great winemaking skill and top quality resources.
Experience Pinot Gris at a premium level, but for a third less price than you usually would. Only while stocks last, so be quick! Enjoy.

Description

Famous among our premium customers for being a creamy, dry style with serious X Factor, the 2019 is made from two separate parcels of grapes grown in the Gibbston valley and Lowburn. Fascinating, spicy flavours of honeysuckle, quince, nashi pear and baked apples. A spectacular Pinot Gris that has a well established cult following at FWDCo for very good reasons!

Smells

aromas of warm apple custard, ripe pears, white lilies, quince, with a dash of cinnamon and rosemary.

Tastes

A rich, creamy palate with honeysuckle, rock melon and even roasted fennel flavours giving interesting nuances that keep you pondering and where more and more descriptives pop into your head with each sip. A dry style that has richness to balance with a cleansing, warm finish, very satisfying. Perfect drinking this summer with roast chicken and friends.
