Description
A famously dry and excellent Riesling, it is one of the great white wine bargains of NZ. With the ability to cellar and gain complexity for 5-8 years, this 2023 is another exceptional Palliser wine.
Smells
Beautiful honeysuckle, lime, and mandarin with touches of jasmine florals, hints of wet stone and chalk, and incredibly enticing aromatics.
Tastes
Gorgeously dry and textured, showing its 6 months ageing on lees, the word minerality springs to mind, just as your saliva glands kick in from the racy acidity and freshen up, the result of the long, pure, limey finish. Gorgeous as an aperitif, it will only grow in complexity through to 2028 and beyond if well cellared. A sensational combo with all ethically caught NZ seafood.
